Give yourselves to prayer and the ministry of the Word. If you do not pray, God will probably lay you aside from your ministry.

“Se dedique a oração e ao ministério da palavra. Se você não orar, provavelmente Deus te deixará de lado em seu ministério”

 

 

Study universal holiness of life. Your whole usefulness depends on this, for your sermons last but an hour or two, your life preaches all the week. If Satan can only make a covetous minister a lover of praise, of pleasure, of good eating, he has ruined your ministry. Give yourselves to prayer, and get your texts, your thoughts, your words from God.

Estude sobre a santificação da vida, Todo o teu desempenho e frutificação dependem disso, porque suas palavras duram uma hora ou duas, mas o seu exemplo de vida dura a semana inteira. Se Satanás fez de você um cristão ganancioso, alguém que gosta de ser exaltado, um amante do dos prazeres deste mundo, ele então já arruinou a sua vida. Se dedique a oração e receba sua direção, seus pensamentos, planos e palavras diretos de Deus”

I ought to pray before seeing any one. Often when I sleep long, or meet with others early, it is eleven or twelve o'clock before I begin secret prayer. I feel it is far better to begin with God-to see His face first, to get my soul near Him before it is near another.

Procuro orar bem de manhã antes de ver qualquer pessoa. Quando eu durmo muito ou converso com as pessoas pela manhã, vou orar lá pelas onze ou meio dia. Por isso eu prefiro ver a face de Deus antes de ver qualquer outra face, me sinto muito melhor quando faço isso.”!

 

The nearer you take anything to the light, the darker its spots will appear; and the nearer you live to God, the more you will see your own utter vileness.

Learn that urgency in prayer does not so much consist in vehement pleading, as in vehement believing. He that believes most the love and power of Jesus will obtain the most in prayer.

Aprenda que  a urgência em oração não consiste muito em pedir com veemência, mas acreditar com veemência. Aquele que acredita e confia no amor e poder de Jesus, esse obterá de Deus a resposta de suas orações”

 

If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies.

Se eu pudesse ouvir Cristo orando por mim na sala ao lado eu não temeria nem mesmo milhões de inimigos

 

THE SEEKERS

Seek to be made holier every day; pray, strive, wrestle for the spirit, to make you like God. Be as much you can with God. I declare to you that I had rather be one hour with God than a thousand with the sweetest society on earth or in Heaven. All other joys are but streams; God is the fountain.

Busque ser santo a cada dia, ore, lute, pelege para que o  Espírito te faça parecido com Deus. ESTEJA O MAIS QUE VOCÊ PUDER COM DEUS. Eu declaro pra você que eu prefiro ficar uma hora com Deus do que milhares de horas com a mais doce sociedadeda terra ou do céu. Todos as outras alegrias  são apenas riachos. DEUS PORÉM É A FONTE, O MANANCIAL DE TODAS AS ÁGUAS

 

A believer longs after God, to come into his presence, to feel his love, to feel near to him in secret, to feel in the crowd that he is nearer than all the creatures. Ah! dear brethren, have you ever tasted this blessedness? There is greater rest and solace to be found in the presence of God for one hour than in an eternity of the presence of man.

O crente suspira por Deus, para vir em sua presença, para sentir seu amor, para sentir-se perto do Senhor no secreto, para sentir na multidão, que  Deus é quem, está mais perto do que todos os outros. Ah querido irmão, você já provou  desta maravilhosa bênção? Existe um grande descanso e alívio que são encontrados em uma hora na presença de Deus do que toda uma eternidade na presença dos homens”

 

Learn much of the Lord Jesus. For every look at yourself take ten looks at Christ. He is altogether lovely . . . . Live much in the smiles of God. Bask in his beams. Feel his all-seeing eye settled on you in love. And repose in his almighty arms.

Aprenda tudo o que puder sobre Jesus. Para cada olhar em si mesmo, olhe 10 vezes mais para Cristo. Ele é totalmente amável.... Viva sempre para fazer Deus sorrir, Repouse  em seus raios de luz. Sinta seus olhos que veem tudo olhar sempre pra você com amor e descanse em seus poderosos braços

 

 

 

Self-righteousness....is the largest idol of the human heart - the idol which man loves most and God hates most. Dearly beloved, you will always be going back to this idol. You are always trying to be something in yourself, to gain God's favour by thinking little of your sin, or by looking to your repentance, tears, prayers ; or by looking to your religious exercises, your frames, etc; or by looking to your graces, the Spirit's work in your heart. Beware of false Christs. Study sanctification to the utmost, but make not a Christ of it.

 A JUSTIÇA PRÓPRIA É O MAIOR ÍDOLO DO CORAÇÃO HUMANO, O ÍDOLO QUE O HOMEM MAIS AMA E QUE DEUS MAIS ODEIA. Querido e amado irmão, você  sempre voltará a adorar este ídolo, você sempre tentará ser alguma coisa por seus próprios méritos, para ganhar favor de Deus pensando que seus pecados não são tão graves ou então olhando orgulhosamente para seu arrependimento, suas lágrimas, orações ou para sua devoção religiosa

 

A man cannot be a faithful minister, until he preaches Christ for Christs sake - until he gives up striving to attract people to himself and seeks only to attract them to Christ.

UM HOMEM NÃO PODE SER UM MINISTRO FIEL DO EVANGELHO, ATÉ QUE ELE PREGUE A CRISTO SOMENTE POR CAUSA DE CRISTO E NADA MAIS, ATÉ QUE ELE DEIXE DE LADO O ATRAIR PESSOAS PARA SI MESMO E PERSIGA SOMENTE ATRAIR PESSOAS PARA O SENHOR
